Since 2018, ArteMorfosis has been creating virtual reality (VR) exhibits. Initially, these were digital versions of our in-gallery displays. However, we soon realized the potential of hosting exclusive online exhibitions, allowing us to feature even more talented artists. While our first VR exhibits were only accessible through HTC-Vive equipment in our gallery, now anyone can explore them from their computers, smartphones, tablets, and on the Oculus Quest.

Due to technical differences, computers, mobiles, and tablets don’t operate on the same virtual platforms. So, please select the link that corresponds to your device for the best experience.

ART: ELIXIR OF LIFE - Flora Fong

Flora Fong (*1949) is one of Cuba’s most renowned contemporary artists and one of the first women in the post-revolutionary Cuban art scene. Her works have been presented in numerous international exhibitions and have received numerous awards. ArteMorfosis will present the works of the Cuban artist at the gallery opening on April 16. Under the title El Arte, Elixir de la Vida – Art as the Elixir of Life, ArteMorfosis will exhibit paintings and sculptures with Fong’s typically Chinese-Caribbean perspectives and strong accents of form and color.

WELTEN ERFAHREN - Zaida del Río

Painter, draftswoman, illustrator, engraver, ceramic artist, poet, and performance artist: Zaida del Río (*1954 in Guadalupe, Las Villas, Cuba) is one of the key figures in contemporary Cuban art. She studied at the Escuela Nacional de Arte and the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, as well as at the L’Ecole de Beaux Arts in Paris. Today, she lives and works in Havana. The exhibition title, EXPERIENCE WORLDS, reveals that the works on display thematically traverse different worlds, making them tangible and ultimately blending them together. The motifs are earthly and spiritual in nature, while del Río’s central theme is always an exploration of the feminine principle.

PRISMA 7 – LUMEN - Manipulated Photography

The seventh edition of the PRISMA contest presents a comprehensive and inclusive call to Cuban photographers, inviting entries that spanned a wide range of stylistic and conceptual possibilities of manipulating photographs through the use of diverse software programs. This initiative by ArteMorfosis aimed to fuse technology with artistic practices, advocating for the use of digital tools not as the goal but as a means to foster the creative process. The contest emphasized the artistic transformation of photography, encouraging artists to digitally manipulate original photographs, thereby broadening the aesthetic possibilities of manipulated photography.

A Journey Into Abstraction - Group Exhibition

**Abstract:** Cuban abstraction in art has its roots in the early 20th century and gained prominence in the 1950s. This form of expression remains significant in contemporary art, with artists diversifying and keeping it vibrant. The exhibition “A Journey Into Absraction” at the ArteMorfosis Event Rooms features works by Julia Valdés, Enrique Báster, José Omar Torres, and José Ángel Vincench, presenting an eclectic mosaic of aesthetic and conceptual perspectives. The exhibition aims to showcase each artist’s unique creativity, using a common pictorial language to convey personal concerns and contextual reflections. Abstract art has the power to evoke emotions and broaden perceptions, offering a sensory experience that engages viewers and invites them to uncover hidden meanings.
